Prof. Mehdi Ghatee

Biography:
Professor Mehdi Ghatee is a prominent Iranian computer scientist and a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). He earned his B.Sc. from Shiraz University, followed by an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. from Amirkabir University of Technology. Professor Ghatee is widely recognized for his pioneering research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, data science, and large-scale optimization. His work places a special emphasis on intelligent transportation systems, smart cities, and theoretical machine learning and deep learning paradigms. He previously served as the Head of the Information and Communication Technology Center and is currently the Director of NORC at the same university. He leads cutting-edge projects on smartphone-based ITS, image processing, public transportation, traffic prediction, spatial-temporal data analysis, and real-world AI applications. He has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in top-tier venues, in addition to contributing to 16 books and book chapters. He has played a crucial role in advancing AI-driven solutions for national and international challenges. His contributions have been acknowledged with several awards, including being named a distinguished researcher. Beyond his research, Professor Ghatee serves as an associate editor and reviewer for numerous prestigious international journals and is deeply committed to education, having supervised and mentored numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. students who now hold influential positions in academia and industry.
